Me and my two roommates all wanted to stop the vape shop runs, so we made a group. We see each other’s streaks, nothing else. When one of us has a rough day, the other two just text “walk?” and we go around the block. It’s become our thing.
Genuine question for the weeknights-only crowd and the not-at-all crowd: what does your Friday look like now? Mine is usually a movie and a long walk, which past me would have found hilarious.
10 p.m. is my hard hour. Homework’s done or not happening, and my brain wants to relax the old way. Currently trying: a shower, a dumb comedy show and putting my phone across the room. Open to ideas.

Started making a big jar of cold brew on Sunday nights. It lasts until Thursday if I’m disciplined, Wednesday if I’m not. I still go to the coffee shop, just on purpose now.
First week my gym goal hit 3 of 3, and I never opened the app at the gym. The visits just showed up on their own. Honestly the best part was not having one more thing to remember. Next goal: keep it going through midterms.
First week of my goal. On day three I realized my whole problem is the twenty minutes between my last class and the bus, right next to the vape shop. So I’m trying to fill those twenty minutes: the library, coffee with a friend, anything.
Four of us, one group, same goal: six library hours a week. We meet Tuesday and Thursday nights. Phones go in the middle of the table, and the first person to grab theirs buys snacks. The group only shows streaks and on-track days, so nobody knows who did their hours where, and…
The dispensary is on my walk home from the bus stop. Started getting off one stop early and walking the long way. It’s seven extra minutes. Seven minutes turns out to be exactly enough to change the walk.
Trying something: no podcast, no music, phone stays in my pocket for the whole walk. The first two times were weirdly hard. The third time I noticed there are about six kinds of birds by the pond. Anyone else do phone-free walks?
If I want something over $20, I put it in a note and wait a day. Most things I don’t even remember by the next morning. It pairs well with my mall goal, since the note means I don’t need to go “look at it in person.”
