How health-care places stay private
Doctor’s offices, clinics and pharmacies never become goals or show up in what NoTestudo shows you. Here’s exactly what that means, and what it doesn’t.
GuideHow to pick places for a “go less” goal
Goals you’re cutting back on count clear days, not willpower. Here’s how to choose the places that decide them, and how to set a target you can actually hit.
GuideHow to plan for a campus event privately
Campus events show up on the Map, and your plans stay on your iPhone. How to find events, make a plan only you can see, and when an event counts toward a goal.
GuideWhat counts as a visit in NoTestudo?

Three weeks without a vape shop stop
Three weeks with zero vape shop visits. The first week I walked past it every day and it was the hardest part of my day. Now I walk on the other side of the street, which sounds silly, but it’s working for me.
VapingThe lake loop at golden hour is my new favorite place
Started walking the loop around the lake after my last class. It takes about forty minutes, and the light right before sunset is unreal. Five weeks now. It’s the only part of my day where I’m not looking at a screen.
OutdoorsFirst week of “walk in the park 4x” done
I picked the park near my apartment and set the goal to four walks a week. Hit four. I didn’t realize how much I needed to just be outside.
OutdoorsWalked into the gym, saw the crowd, walked out. Didn’t count. Fair.
Got to the gym at 5:30 and every rack was taken, so I turned around. It didn’t count as a visit, which annoyed me for about a minute, but it was a two-minute stop. Passing by isn’t going. Went back at 9 and it was empty. Lesson learned: 5:30 is everyone’s time.
FitnessIs it weird that I like the walk to the gym more than the gym?
Twelve minutes each way, past the big lawn, headphones in. By the time I get there I’m already in a better mood. The workout itself is fine. The walk is the part I’d miss.
FitnessFirst week, and I already know my hard spot
First week of my goal. On day three I realized my whole problem is the twenty minutes between my last class and the bus, right next to the vape shop. So I’m trying to fill those twenty minutes: the library, coffee with a friend, anything.
VapingGetting off the bus one stop early
The dispensary is on my walk home from the bus stop. Started getting off one stop early and walking the long way. It’s seven extra minutes. Seven minutes turns out to be exactly enough to change the walk.
CannabisLeaving my phone in my pocket on walks
Trying something: no podcast, no music, phone stays in my pocket for the whole walk. The first two times were weirdly hard. The third time I noticed there are about six kinds of birds by the pond. Anyone else do phone-free walks?
