How to plan for a campus event privately
Campus events show up on the Map, and your plans stay on your iPhone. How to find events, make a plan only you can see, and when an event counts toward a goal.
GuideWhat counts as a visit in NoTestudo?
NoTestudo notices when you arrive at and leave the places in your goals. What counts, what looks like passing by, and how to fix a visit the app got wrong.
GuideThe library does half the work
Why studying in the same place makes starting easier, and what NoTestudo can and can’t see about your study time.
MagazineGo to bed. I’ll keep watch.
The NoTestudo turtle on late nights, the places that keep you up, and why the 2 a.m. library session isn’t always the win it feels like.

Tried the home-by-midnight idea, and still got my library hours
After my post about being exhausted, a few of you said to add a home-by-midnight goal. I set it up last week. Four nights home by midnight, and I still got six hours at the library, because I stopped wasting the last hour staring at the same page. I’m keeping both. Sleep was the…
StudyWhat’s one small thing you’re doing today?
New: starting today, I’ll post a prompt here every morning at 7. Slowly. I’m a turtle. Today’s prompt: what’s one small thing you’re doing today? A walk, a grocery run, one class you were going to skip. Small wins count.
SocialMidterm week: nine hours at the library so far
Nine hours at the library since Sunday. My weekly target is six, so I’m ahead, which has never happened to me in any class ever. My trick: I don’t go to study, I go to sit in my spot on the quiet floor. The studying kind of happens once I’m there.
StudyEleven weeks of 7 a.m. gym, and I still don’t like mornings
Not a morning person. Never will be. But the rec center is basically empty at 7, and if I go before class it happens. If I wait until after, it doesn’t. Eleven weeks in a row now. Some weeks I swim instead of lifting and it still counts, because the streak belongs to the goal…
FitnessWhat’s one place you want to show up to this week?
This week’s prompt: name one place you want to visit more this week, and one you want to visit less. Saying it out loud (well, in writing) makes it real. I’ll start: more library, fewer 1 a.m. drive-thru runs. Slow and steady.
FitnessGroceries twice a week, two weeks in
Two weeks of hitting my grocery goal. I’m cooking more and ordering less, and the streak badge is very cute.
Healthy EatingThe lake loop at golden hour is my new favorite place
Started walking the loop around the lake after my last class. It takes about forty minutes, and the light right before sunset is unreal. Five weeks now. It’s the only part of my day where I’m not looking at a screen.
OutdoorsMy home coffee setup cost under $30
A cheap pour-over cone, paper filters, a bag of beans from the grocery store and a $9 kettle. That’s it. Two weeks of making it at home before class. My Money saved card says $41 so far, which is a lot of coffee.
Coffee RunsTwo weeks of making my 8 a.m. lab on time
Lab starts at 8, I live 25 minutes away, and I used to show up at 8:20 or not at all. Two weeks now of getting there on time. What changed: I leave at 7:25 even if I’m not ready, and I eat breakfast on the bus. Not glamorous.
ClassI unsubscribed from every store email
Realized half my mall trips started with a “sale ends tonight” email. Spent ten minutes unsubscribing from everything. Not an app thing, just a me thing, but my weekly summary has been very boring since, in a good way.
SpendingSix weeks of Sunday cooking
Every Sunday I cook two big things: a grain bowl base and a soup. It’s maybe two hours. Then weeknights are just assembling. Six weeks in, and my grocery runs went from random to Sunday and Wednesday, every week. Happy to share the soup.
Healthy EatingMy cheap grocery list for a whole week
People asked, so here’s my roughly $35 week: oats, eggs, rice, frozen veggies, a big bag of spinach, chickpeas, peanut butter, bananas, tortillas, cheese. Not exciting. Gets me to the next grocery run without ordering.
Healthy EatingWe swapped Thursday bar night for Thursday dinner
My friends and I always did Thursday at the same bar. I asked if we could do dinner instead, expecting pushback. Everyone said yes right away. Apparently they wanted to save money too. We rotate who picks the place now.
SobrietyGame night every Thursday, four weeks running
Started a Thursday game night in our dorm lounge. Some weeks it’s eight people, some weeks it’s me and my roommate playing cards. Four weeks of it now. It’s become the thing I look forward to most.
SocialWalked into the gym, saw the crowd, walked out. Didn’t count. Fair.
Got to the gym at 5:30 and every rack was taken, so I turned around. It didn’t count as a visit, which annoyed me for about a minute, but it was a two-minute stop. Passing by isn’t going. Went back at 9 and it was empty. Lesson learned: 5:30 is everyone’s time.
FitnessKept $84 this month by skipping the drive-thru
My Money saved card says $84 since September. Not huge, but it’s the first time I’ve seen the number instead of just feeling bad about it. What helped: groceries on Sunday so there’s always something at home at 11 p.m.
Fast FoodLate-night drive-thru is my whole pattern
Daytime me is fine. 11:30 p.m. me, after a long shift, driving past the drive-thru on the way home, is a different person. Things I’m trying: a snack in the car, a different route home, and texting my roommate when I leave work so someone knows I’m coming straight back.
Fast FoodWhat does your Friday night look like now?
Genuine question for the weeknights-only crowd and the not-at-all crowd: what does your Friday look like now? Mine is usually a movie and a long walk, which past me would have found hilarious.
SobrietyWhat do you do at 10 p.m. instead?
10 p.m. is my hard hour. Homework’s done or not happening, and my brain wants to relax the old way. Currently trying: a shower, a dumb comedy show and putting my phone across the room. Open to ideas.
CannabisHow do you get to class when it’s pouring?
Every time it rains I somehow decide the lecture is “probably recorded.” It is not always recorded. What’s your rainy-day plan?
