New: starting today, I’ll post a prompt here every morning at 7. Slowly. I’m a turtle. Today’s prompt: what’s one small thing you’re doing today? A walk, a grocery run, one class you were going to skip. Small wins count.
Drive-thru line again on the way home. The widget said “Turtle eyebrow: raised.” and I felt so judged by a cartoon that I pulled out of the line. Went home and made a grilled cheese. Last time the fries won. This time the turtle did.
After my post about being exhausted, a few of you said to add a home-by-midnight goal. I set it up last week. Four nights home by midnight, and I still got six hours at the library, because I stopped wasting the last hour staring at the same page. I’m keeping both. Sleep was the…
Nine hours at the library since Sunday. My weekly target is six, so I’m ahead, which has never happened to me in any class ever. My trick: I don’t go to study, I go to sit in my spot on the quiet floor. The studying kind of happens once I’m there.
I didn’t quit drinking, I just stopped going out Monday to Thursday. My Time saved card shows the hours I used to spend there, and it’s honestly a lot. Weekends are still a work in progress, but nine weeks feels good.
Three weeks with zero vape shop visits. The first week I walked past it every day and it was the hardest part of my day. Now I walk on the other side of the street, which sounds silly, but it’s working for me.
Not a morning person. Never will be. But the rec center is basically empty at 7, and if I go before class it happens. If I wait until after, it doesn’t. Eleven weeks in a row now. Some weeks I swim instead of lifting and it still counts, because the streak belongs to the goal…
This week’s prompt: name one place you want to visit more this week, and one you want to visit less. Saying it out loud (well, in writing) makes it real. I’ll start: more library, fewer 1 a.m. drive-thru runs. Slow and steady.
My goal is one dispensary run a month. Seven weeks in a row on track. I didn’t realize how often I used to stop by “just to look” until my weekly summary showed it. Now if I go, it’s planned, and I go once.
Started walking the loop around the lake after my last class. It takes about forty minutes, and the light right before sunset is unreal. Five weeks now. It’s the only part of my day where I’m not looking at a screen.
My goal is the mall at most once a month. This month’s one visit: my sister’s birthday present, in and out in twenty minutes. In the spring I was there every weekend “just walking around.” Turns out walking around costs about $60.
Missed Friday’s lecture. My weekly summary just says four of five classes. No red X, no guilt trip, just the number. Going Monday regardless. There’s a quiz.
A cheap pour-over cone, paper filters, a bag of beans from the grocery store and a $9 kettle. That’s it. Two weeks of making it at home before class. My Money saved card says $41 so far, which is a lot of coffee.
I have the turtle on Playful, and I was sitting in the drive-thru line on the way home when the widget said “Put the fries down slowly.” I laughed so hard I sent my sister a screenshot. I still got the fries. Next time, maybe.
My goal is literally “get to class.” It counts visits to my class buildings. I know it’s basic, but I skipped a lot last semester and this is the first full week.
Lab starts at 8, I live 25 minutes away, and I used to show up at 8:20 or not at all. Two weeks now of getting there on time. What changed: I leave at 7:25 even if I’m not ready, and I eat breakfast on the bus. Not glamorous.
My goal this month is “see people in person twice a week,” and I’d been counting the same two friends over and over. So I went to a board game club meeting by myself. I almost left in the first five minutes. I stayed for two hours. Someone taught me a game I’m still thinking…
Realized half my mall trips started with a “sale ends tonight” email. Spent ten minutes unsubscribing from everything. Not an app thing, just a me thing, but my weekly summary has been very boring since, in a good way.
