Second week of four walks, and I found a bench

Four walks again this week, done by Saturday morning. On the third one I found a bench under a big oak at the back of the park, and now every walk ends there for five minutes.

I think the bench is the habit now. The walk is how I get to it.

The lake loop at golden hour is my new favorite place

Started walking the loop around the lake after my last class. It takes about forty minutes, and the light right before sunset is unreal. Five weeks now. It’s the only part of my day where I’m not looking at a screen.

Leaving my phone in my pocket on walks

Trying something: no podcast, no music, phone stays in my pocket for the whole walk. The first two times were weirdly hard. The third time I noticed there are about six kinds of birds by the pond. Anyone else do phone-free walks?

I picked the park near my apartment and set the goal to four walks a week. Hit four. I didn’t realize how much I needed to just be outside.
