Volunteer day

On the Map · Service

From TerpLink, UMD’s event calendar.

Volunteer days usually mean a few hours somewhere you wouldn’t normally go: a community garden, a food bank, a park cleanup.

Find them on the Map, mark the ones you want to go to and add them to your calendar if you like. Your plan stays private either way.

Who sees your plan
Only you

The app is invite-only for now: ask someone on campus for an invite, or join the waitlist.

How it can count toward a goal

  • If the site is one of your goal’s places, the hours count toward that goal on their own.
  • Somewhere new? You can add a place to a goal, and visits there count from then on.
  • Stays under 3 minutes look like passing by, so dropping something off on the way might not count. Tap Count This Visit if you stopped.
  • NoTestudo notices when you arrive and when you leave. There’s nothing to check in.

Mark an event Going, Maybe, Can’t go or Saved. Your plans stay on this device, and only you can see them. Tap your plan again to clear it.

Group meetups are different: when a group plans a meetup, your RSVP is shared with the host and counted with other members’ answers.

TerpLink manages campus events, so reports go to them. Open the event on TerpLink and use its report option.
