How weekly targets and clear days work

Every goal has a weekly target. Goals you’re building count visits, and goals you’re cutting back on count clear days. Here’s how a week adds up.

Two weeks of hitting my grocery goal. I’m cooking more and ordering less, and the streak badge is very cute.

NoTestudo goals run in one of two directions. Build a habit, or break one. Either way, each goal gets a weekly target you can actually hit, and the week fills in on its own.

Two kinds of targets

  • Doing more. For places you want to visit more, the target counts visits, like going to the gym three times a week.
  • Doing less. For places you want to visit less, the target counts clear days, like five clear days a week.

A clear day is a day with no visit to the goal’s places. NoTestudo can’t see a craving, but it can notice visits to a place, and every day without one is a clear day.

How a week adds up

Weeks run Monday to Sunday in your time zone. As the week goes, your goal shows progress like “2 of 3 clear days,” or visits toward a target.

  1. Visits record on their own when you arrive and leave.
  2. A clear day is confirmed once the day is over with nothing recorded.
  3. When Sunday is over, the week settles: your week, added up.
Good to know

An on-track day is a day when every goal was on track: a visit for goals you’re building, a clear day for goals you’re cutting back on.

Streaks

A week adds to your streak when every habit in a goal reaches its weekly target. The streak belongs to the goal, not the place, so adding a new place never resets it.1

Changing a target

Targets aren’t a test. If a target is too high or too easy, change it. The new weekly target starts on Monday, so the week in progress stays as it was.

Reframe

Pick a target a little better than your first week, not a perfect week. Small wins count.

Where to see it

  • Home has a countdown to your next clear day.
  • Goals shows each habit’s week as a row of seven days, Monday to Sunday.
  • Weekly summary puts the whole week together.
